First, the new DEN Member will read the following words, quietly in the mind, or spoken out loud, it matters not:
The DEN is a PRIVATE, MEMBERS’ CLUB. This occasion marks the beginning of your opportunity for participating through fellowship and friendship, in the activities of your Club on behalf of your community. Through your role as a DEN Member you will have the opportunity to help repay, in various ways, the debt we all owe our community for the privilege of enjoying its many benefits. In all these things we seek to make our indelible mark on the life, progress and welfare of our community in Downtown Saint Louis and the Universe in general. Only with your regular attendance and active participation in your Club’s activities, can you be rewarded with a fuller life and the self-satisfaction that comes to each of us as we participate in our community.
Our Goal: By pursuing the mission of The DEN, we know that it will benefit health, both mentally and physically, both for the DEN Member and all those who surround that DEN Member.
Mission statement: The DEN is a center for gathering, communing, being with other people, or just being on your own. The DEN intends to bring people together and to help us discover ourselves both as individuals, as friends and as a community. The DEN seeks to provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, develop leadership, promote personal growth through learning new things, and having fun.
Vision: We are caring and competent servants and leaders transforming our community.
Core values: The core values of The DEN are service, experience, growth, duty and fun. We seek to achieve these values through leadership, friendship, togetherness, caring, introspection and inclusiveness.
